My First Button

You may have noticed this...

I recently added it to my sidebar.

It belongs to...

well, I can't name names, but if you know my name then you know her name.
This is my extremely talented cousin-in-law!
She has a home business making the cutest car seat covers I have ever seen!
So, if you've got a car seat, or know someone with a car seat - take a look at her website

HANDYMAN

It's great to have my own handyman around the house!
A little over a month ago Handsome Hubby made this great picnic table for our backyard... I love it!
Thank you Handsome Hubby!

Surprise!

The Professor says that the chips at Chevy's are unforgettable!
He was happily eating away, waiting for his dinner, when he's eyes got round and his hand clapped over his mouth. Then a muffled voice said, "My tooth just fell out!"

Hard Work

Do you ever have a day when lifting your head off of that pillow is a full body effort?

Bakugan

The Professor had a goal this year as well. When he attends speech he earns points and gets to save them up to spend on prizes - well he worked hard, earned his points and selected the prize he's had his eye on since Christmas. This very exciting Bakugan Puzzle... as soon as he got it home he had it out and started putting it together!

If you don't know what Bakugan are... ask The Professor he'll tell you all about them!

Great job kid!

You've worked hard and learned a lot... we all have!

Celebrity Mom

Now I know how it feels to be the mom of a celebrity.

You may remember OTG Boy had some math goals at the beginning of the year...
All that hard work paid off at the final Math Blaster Assembly of the year!

As usual, the assembly started with music blaring and lights flashing.
First, awards were given to all the kids passing their own grade level tests, starting with 1st Grade and moving up.

The excitement started high and kept building with each new grade...

Then they started announcing kids who had passed tests higher than their grade level...

The excitement (and noise) growing louder with each new kid.

Now everyone (including OTG Boy) knew OTG Boy was getting something... why else would his mom be there with his little brothers?!?

More names were called, still no OTG Boy.

Finally, the teacher, yelling into the mic says...

"This is our last Math Blaster of the '08-'09 school year!" (Cheering)

"He's a 5th Grader!" (Cheering)

"Who's passed the 7th Grade Math Test!" (Even more cheering)

"He's in Ms. M's Class!" (More cheering - OTG Boy's class is on their feet jumping hysterically)

"His name is... OTG..." you can't even hear the last name the students are screaming at the top of their lungs!

OTG Boy is trying to run to the stage, but everyone along his path has their hand out... he's high-fiving everyone! Finally, he bursts through the crowd... caught up in the moment he doesn't even consider using the stairs... he leaps up onto the stage while the music blares and the crowd cheers!

Amazing!

I told OTG Boy to write his experience in his journal - it's not everyday you have your entire school cheering for you.

A New Friend

Meet Spiderman!
Bubba's newest friend.
He made this little guy on his class field trip to the Stuffington Bear Factory.
The purpose of the trip? A real life explanation of how we use sequencing everyday.
And then I realized, they're right - all of those patterns:
ABAB
ABCABC
ABBABB
ABBCAACABBC
It's not just about circles and squares...
or the colors red and blue.
Our entire lives are full of patterns!
What is my pattern?
What's yours?
