Pay It Forward

The Rules:*Be one of the first THREE bloggers to leave a comment on this post, which then entitles you to a handmade item from me - something crafty or yummy, who knows?!

*Winners must post this challenge on their blog, meaning that they will Pay It Forward, creating a handmade gift -anything!- for the first THREE bloggers who leave a comment on their post about this giveaway!*The gift that you send to your friends can be from any price range and you have 365 days to make/ship your item. This means you should be willing to maintain your blog at least until you receive your gift and have shipped your gifts. And, remember: It’s the Spirit and the Thought That Counts!*When you receive your gift, please feel free to blog about it, sharing appropriate pictures and comments! If you are not one of the Top Three Commenter's on this post, you can still play along. Go ahead and start your own Pay It Forward chain, and encourage your blogging friends to do the same!!

(For me I'll even change the rules - since I know a lot of my readers aren't bloggers - I'll just send an item to you if you are one of the first three to comment. So, if you aren't a blogger you just have to promise that you'll take a treat, or write a note to three people you love!)

What?

Last night while we were eating dinner Junior started to cry. Here's the conversation that followed...
Bubba: "I think Junior needs his pants on fire."
Handsome Hubby: "What?"
Bubba: "Junior wants his pants on fire."
HaHa: "Huh?"
Bubba: "He needs his pants on fire! You know, to put in his mouth."
Handsome Hubby & HaHa: "Oh, his pacifier."

Too funny!

Come And Get It!

When Grandma was getting ready to head back home to Florida she couldn't find her pick. She asked the boys to keep a look out and let her know if they found it.
Well, a few days ago Bubba came running... "I found Grandma's pick under the couch!"
"Great!" I said, "Grandma will be so happy we can get an envelope and mail it to her later in the week."
Bubba walked away.
Five minutes later he was back...
"I don't think we should mail Grandma her comb."
"Why not?" I asked.
Bubba's response? "I think we need to call her and tell if she wants it, she and Grandpa need to come back and get it."
Always thinking!

Grandpa's Birthday

It was recently our Florida Grandpa's birthday - and we really miss having him here. All of the kids wish he was back in town. Grandpa is always a lot of fun!
In fact, our kids will never forget when Grandpa jumped into the pool over the Thanksgiving weekend. As far as we, Arizona Transplants, are concerned you might as well jump into one of the Great Lakes as our pool in November... I guess Florida weather hadn't thinned out Grandpa's blood just yet.

Love you Grandpa! Hope you had a Happy Birthday!

Growing Pains

Anyone who's read the checklist of symptoms for Asperger Syndrome will find that poor gross motor skills are common.

However, that is not the case with The Professor... turns out he's got great gross motor skills - which leads to being a daredevil... which leads bumps & cuts...

and a kid who's out there trying the same crazy stunt the very next day!
(I try to blame Handsome Hubby for this - but if you look at pictures of me as a child - it's hard to find one without a scraped knee or scarred elbow... I know Handsome Hubby, I know... it's all me!)

Closest Living Relatives

Handsome Hubby and I flew the coop and never looked back - okay we've looked back, but moving back to Idaho or Utah has just never felt like the right thing for us to do. So, as an alternative we've tried to convince family to move to where we are. Our only success has been Uncle W - and we're glad he came. Now he's married to Aunt K and all of my boys have the cutest little GIRL cousin to play with! Give us a year and Junior and Cousin B will be running all over the place causing all kinds of trouble!

Yesteryear

A few weeks ago OTG boy participated in the annual "Yesteryear" celebration at his school.

He dressed in his "western wear" and borrowed Handsome Hubby's fox tail hat, participated in many pioneer type activities and he had a great time.

His favorite activities included eating buffalo stew, buggy rides, sack racing, three-legged racing, kick the boot, shaving (with a butter knife - TWICE), making a drawstring bag, getting his picture taken while holding a gun, and one of his favorite parts of the day was that his Florida Grandparents were able to stop by and see some of the activities. For us, that's a big deal - we rarely have grandparents around when grandparents are invited to school celebrations... so to have some show up is very exciting!

And for any grandparents interested - OTG Boy recently passed the 6th grade Math Blasters test, so now he's working on passing the 7th Grade test.
That's OTG Boy always on the go!
